Pros

Renaissance provided a stable and friendly work atmosphere. They were fair to their employees and have a good benefits package.

Cons

Renaissance did not make it a practice to promote from within. If a position came open they generally hired outside the company. I saw many people leave because they wanted to further their career; not because they disliked the company.

Uncertain Times

Pros

- Excellent work-life balance, though this can vary by department - Solid benefits package with good options - Fully remote work environment offers flexibility - Some teams have a warm, welcoming culture and are genuinely great to collaborate with - Genuine commitment to diversity and inclusion—feels authentic, not performative, ERGs and representation.

Cons

- Compensation has not kept pace with inflation—long-tenured employees essentially receive a pay cut year over year - Wage stagnation is common; once you're perceived as "too expensive," you become a layoff candidate regardless of your contributions or skillset - Low confidence in leadership: decisions feel driven by board priorities around growth and profit, which often conflicts with the stated mission to accelerate learning - Culture is inconsistent across departments; some teams thrive while others operate in survival mode, anxious about job security - Communication around layoffs and cost-cutting measures feels hollow and disconnected

Unstable & toxic

Pros

Pay is average. Benefits are good: PTO, STO, parental leave, health/dental/vision options

Cons

Company has become very unstable the past few years with multiple rounds of layoffs every year. Executive leadership team seems more concerned about buying competitor companies than investing in the existing product line & employees. The most common phrase heard in meetings the past few years is "do more with less" which translates to the remaining employees picking up the workload of the employees they continue to layoff due to "restructuring". Employees with 10, 20, 30 years of experience are being let go.
