Pros
You get a lot of autonomy on how you can do your job from a day-to-day basis. There is a lot of to opportunity to add value because the company is so unstructured. Decisions are typically made using gut feel, so if you can articulate ideas with data you can be very convincing.
Cons
The promotion process is nontransparent and hard to understand. Overall salary, bonus, and benefits are very poor and substandard to not only the waste industry but other industries overall. Professional growth is minimal as frankly, there are not a lot of smart people working at Allied Waste. The company is largely focused on year-over-year incremental growth and not really thinking about the big picture strategy.
