Pros

benefits are good. coworkers are great. promote from within.

Cons

extremely deceptive behavior toward disabled persons/those who need even minimal accommodations. HR passes the buck to floors SUPS because they believe it protects them frm accountability while they ‘worsening’ of disabled employees’ immediate situation, whilst ‘throwing a cpl bones & acting like they gave you a filet & you owe them now.. whole time floor sups are setting unattainable goals that ensure failure, using ADA/LOA medical issues against you. They will ‘lose’ your disclosure for your disability, even though you believe it might be in the cards for you to build a career there by honesty from the outset to set you for success to be an asset to them. thankfully I found mine, but I advise anyone w/ disabilities to keep copies of your own disclosure on hand and document all conflicting information you are given and by whom bc it’s every man for themselves when it comes down to ownership of who ill-advised you even if it’s your direct management. I gave 3 stars because I took this job believing that I could build a career here and I still do, even if perhaps foolishly so but we shall see based on where this road takes it. I like a competitive job even though I may not be as quick at ‘catching on’ as some others, at some tasks. I catch onto patterns much more quickly than others. The future lies ahead to conclude whether the ‘end of a thing’ is the ‘competitive sales job/work environment’ Republic Services claimed to be in treating everyone equal OR the hostile one toward certain people HR has instructed and permitted to take place. I am in touch with all the correct individuals/groups/platforms/ advocates to expose & address either one, accordingly, as the time comes & if it’s going where ai think it’s going I then have 24/7 to focus solely on that. I truly hold out hope Republic Services is as honest as their upcoming ‘great place to work award’ under this comment will point back to.. because at this point in time for me a neurodivergent person, the response you see on nearly every post is a nothing more than indicative of how a disabled individual feels, even after hire.. like just a number… unheard until the issue is escalated only because it ‘technically has to be’ not because of any form of integrity level… HR tells you out of their mouth that ‘it’s because they HAVE to’, in a very condescending manner and then HR follows up by instructing the SUP to enforce goals that are set so high they can use the accusation of non-performance against you… Not enough room for the exact strategies used here, but they are on stand-by and for now I will just say keep your ducklings in a row in case needed in every dealing with every person there. If you fell you are being treated differently, you ARE! trust your intuition and gather what’s needed accordingly , know your points of contact to ensure fair & timely responses, Read & obtain a copy of your employee handbook and take next steps as you go unheard at each attempt to be fair and professional . value yourself, be an asset even as your weaknesses are pointed out , point out your strengths just as repetitively with boldness, confidence and action at every level. You have a right to be heard and not treated differently!
