First con is the 2 year contract at a pretty low pay. During training you get your local minimum wage and while on project the salary is 45,000. Once you sign this contract you are locked in for 2 years on the project and to break the contract there is a big fee. Additionally, the training itself was not great. Even though everything we did was planned out in advance these plans were communicated so poorly it felt like everything was changing at the last minute. I did do this training remotely during Summer 2021 so maybe this would be better in person. To whether you should join Revature, if you are able to find a tech job somewhere else you should go for that. If you are struggling in the job market, however, Revature may be right for you. With Revature you give up flexibility and potential upside for job security and the ability to get your foot in the door. Whether that trade off is worth it is up to you.
