Pros

Can get paid to do nothing if you're assigned to a contracting client. Can learn a lot during training. It's a great deal to get paid for training if you don't have to worry about rent.

Cons

Getting paid to do nothing as a contracted contractor (i.e. benched with your client) is not uncommon. Instruction needs to be standardized. Quality Checks/Controls need to be less frequent and replaced with online quizzes. There's no reason for QC to take two hours when everyone gets asked two questions. Instructors should practice ahead of time. Complete and utter disorganization. No one knew anything about onboarding or relocation at any step in the process. I extended my lease multiple times in anticipation of a move that never happened. Everyone working remotely gets $45k regardless of whether they're in a high cost of living area. The bench activities are mainly a waste of time. Should be restructured with real learning assignments rather than Kahoot games.

Pros

- Daily concise and lucid lectures on the topics that were required for the cohort - Valuable teamwork experience from the group projects - Great emphasis not only on tech skills but also on soft skills - Got to learn materials that are not taught at a four-year college, from majoring in CS - Pair programming exercise which greatly contributed to the learning experience - Great work culture, working with people from different backgrounds and everyone had a growth mindset - Under-performing cohorts were given multiple opportunities to improve themselves

Cons

- Under-performing cohorts could get released at any given time if they do not improve - Technical Interviews every week can get overwhelming to people with low programming experience and enthusiasm - The post-training/staging process may become unpredictable
