Pros

This company really does hire pretty much anyone, no coding experience required. They then train you in a coding track, giving you the skills you need to be a successful coder. Even if you end up not doing well in one track, they will try their very best to make you a successful coder, and may move you to other coding tracks, as necessary.

Cons

You don't really get any choice in company/location to live. Your first year salary is capped at 55000 (min 45000, and you do get a guaranteed 15000 raise after the first year, assuming your new employer doesn't buy you out of your contract), so if you are placed in a location with high cost of living, you may be in for a rougher time than some other people. Also, having no say in where you get to live is not great, understandable as you are here to get experience, but there are definitely circumstances I can think of where a person might not be able to live in a certain location

Pros

I will definitely say that the training portion of Revature was by far an amazing experience. I did retain a lot of information, the individual teaching the course was great and knowledgeable on the subject, the projects were fun and challenging. Another pro is that it definitely gets your foot in the door for some pretty amazing places, but keep in mind you will not be an official employee of the clients, you are just a contractor, so I am not sure how relevant that will be on your resume.

Cons

There is quite a bit of cons: Of course, you will be working on minimum wage, which if you don't have too many bills, it's honestly not too bad. STAGING IS A NIGHTMARE!! None of the managers for staging are communicating with one another, you are dumped into a group of individuals who have already begun staging and on top of the daily tasks and meetings that lead you no where they expect you to still do some self-learning. If you do not show up to those meeting and do the busy work tasks, they will count you as absent which I am assuming comes out of your pay. Another con is the process of moving. I am not sure if this is just what happened to my cohort, but we received a month in advanced knowledge of the fact that we will be relocating for a client. A MONTH. How many people have their own apartment leases that they need to get out of? How many people have to figure out a means to obtaining an apartment where you are required to show 3x the rent, but only making minimum wage - delusional. On top of that we never received any updates on the start date until the very last minute, and when we did receive an update it was either "We're looking to start you guys this week of []". There was never a set in stone date, just a bunch of games. I honestly cannot wait to get out of my contract. I have been looking on indeed DAILY for job opportunities, because this has been such a nightmare.
