Pros

They kickstart your skill development on technologies. But it comes at a huge cost. To be fair, it maybe a good platform for those without CS background looking to get into tech. But it is advisable to have *some* background / experience - the program can get to intensive for those without.

Cons

Make a small mistake and you are out! As many cases before have noted - they have filmsy reasons to fire you from training. It is ironic that they spend so much and let you go. Before you sign up - have a look at both negative and positive reviews. This program can be brutal to many - therefore advisable only to keep this as a *last* resort if you want to get into IT. You'd be better off taking part time self paced IT courses - there are better boot camps online for that.

Pros

job, benefits, in theory can get a you job

Cons

contract is horrendous. And In my case and some other coworkers we were forced to sign an addendum which released them from employing us, but we were still under the two year obligation to our NEW COMPANY. We are no longer employeed at revature, and they still send us emails requesting us to relocate. And we are still on the hook for $30,000 if we leave our new job. This is addendum is certainly illegal, and would have a near impossible time holding in arbitration.

Pros

Good amount of learning. Learn industry skills.

Cons

Please change your structure. A person can graduate top of their class but be SOLD at a "low-tier" firm. So even if someone does buy your contract out, you may start @ 70k a year vs someone else who didn't even do that well in training or passed with minimal grades and got into a "better-tier firm" that starts @ 120k a year when they buy that contract out. There is no hierarchy at all and the sales people just want to sell you out as soon as possible. This literally means there is not point in trying as hard as possible . Stop stealing developers salaries. Contract jobs normally pays $100k+ a year, but you are only giving your developers 50k~. A 40-50k margin is not fair at all. Most bootcamps only cost 18k and you have full transparency in managing your salary and the dream job you want and the location you want vs. Revature selling you to whatever firm regardless of your needs.
