Pros

The training you get at Revature is excellent. All of the technologies are relevant in today's job market. They help new developers find the 2 year experience most companies are looking for. The trainers are very helpful and the network you gain can be invaluable. They have you working on industry level projects that provide you with something unique, soft skills. Something that differs here from other online camps I've attended is the amount of communication and team-work. Once on client side the trainers are still open to questions and the management will help you will any other issues. The allowance you get was sufficient and was never an issue. They cover all of the training costs and provide housing. I like that they are reaching out to college campuses. Their business works very well for current and post college students. Work/Life balance, not sure where to put this, is not exactly a 'pro' but if you aren't from the area it's great. You get back as much as you put into a boot-camp like this. A lot of the time working after hours is suggested but not mandatory other than meeting deadlines on projects. I feel that this is standard for a boot-camp but may not work for everyone, for example, married couples with children. Revature does provide enough accommodations so that you have the time needed to put in the extra hours.

Cons

Each trainer has their own strengths and weaknesses which is fine. However two trainers I worked with seemed incompetent in a core technology vital to our success. This lead to a halt in the overall amazing flow of the boot-camp. After the training is over is where Revature is at it's weakest. It seems that because they are working to grow, the time to get you on a project can take longer than necessary. Currently they seem more interested in partnerships, which is understandable as they are a relatively smaller company. However as a current employee this can become frustrating if you are placed with a new partner rather than one already established. They also seem to cater to clients needs over their own employees. This is something that will hopefully improve over time as they establish themselves. Lack of communication could be an issue at times. Management would be unaware of certain situations until they escalated and vice versa where we wouldn't be informed of certain projects until last minute. Trainers would be our main point of contact but I feel lack of authority and key information lead to the escalation of information gathering. Minor Issues: I was asked to transport other employees in my personal vehicle, many come down without transportation. This was uncompensated by Revature and unless you can set up an arrangement your allowance is stretched out even further. However I hear they are working on this issue.
