Pros

The people in the Accounting and Finance department are great. It is a friendly atmosphere to work in. Most of the time you can expect to work a 40 hour week. get to were casual clothing in the office.

Cons

There has been high turnover in the accounting and finance department. There are several people in upper management to assign task without communicating with the other members of upper management. This leads to duplicate work, contradictory task, and confusing in the department. With so much change in upper management there has also been changes in some benefit the department previously had. It seems that the department will no longer receive bonuses regardless of what was told to the members of the department when being hired. Management is now less flexible with hours and working from home, and require PTO to be used for most cases.

What I Wish I Had Known

Pros

If you’re really desperate you can probably hang on for a year here. Keep your resume warm. It’s remote.

Cons

If you have a stable job, you need to avoid this place. You are putting your career in jeopardy. When you first come on board, Ron will tell you “This is a stable company,” and “We want people here for their whole careers.” You’ll believe it, even when they throw around words like “startup” and “change of direction” in the same breath. Yes, this stable company that’s been around for 25 years is actually a startup. Surprise! Every six months, the company will announce a “change of direction,” without actually telling you what that new direction actually is. You can be sure, however, that it means people are getting laid off. Sometimes you’ll be told who, sometimes you won’t. You’ll try to get in touch with someone you were working with, and they’re just gone. And then it will be your turn. “We’re going in a new direction.” What direction? Who knows. Your manager might not even know why you’re being let go. But you’re gone, wondering how you ever could have been so stupid to put your career and livelihood in Ron DiGiamo’s hands. Management is made up of megalomaniacs who want to play at being big-company executives. To them, it means shuffling people around at random and berating employees nonstop. They’ve created a toxic environment that filters down to everyone not in the inner circle. Anyone who hasn’t already left is miserable and apathetic. Once in a while management will try to make some token effort, like sending around an employee survey. That will soon be forgotten because they know nobody will call them on it. You cannot trust a single word management says. And if you do manage to hang on, your reward will be a 3% raise. Enjoy.

Pros

You work with (some) very good people. The company sees the value of a remote team.

Cons

The greatest thing holding RCCS back is our CEO. We've lost a lot of people in the past year, including many in senior roles. Our last company meeting has finally convinced me it's time for me to join them. At our company all-calls (where attendance is taken, by the way), you can count on two things. IT will remind us that we're being watched and tracked like a bunch of toddlers, and Ron will make a tone-deaf, self-aggrandizing speech. This time, we were told that the company wants people who will make a career out of RCCS, and not just a job. Of course, he didn't give any reason why they should, because there aren't any. Tell us Ron, should we stay for the sub-par benefits and PTO? Should your constant badgering and unreasonable expectations make us want to stay? Are we supposed to discount our colleagues heading for the door as just a bunch of losers, as you seem to be implying? What is it?

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about our PTO polices, security policies and overall work environment. RCCS has always strived to promote an environment and work culture where everyone feels inclusive and appreciated so we are taking this very seriously. We do pride ourselves on the positive feedback we get from our employees on our work-life balance, flexibility and opportunity for growth within our organization. In regards to PTO, we use many tools and resources to ensure that we are staying competitive in the market which is why we also have personal days aside from PTO, 9 paid holidays and flexible work schedules. Our quarterly All Calls do also serve several purposes, we highlight our promotions within the company, birthdays, work anniversaries and it is a chance for everyone within the organization to hear about all of the exciting things that have happened during the quarter. Attendance is taken because of our annual trainings that occur such as our annual HIPAA/Compliance trainings to ensure we as a company, are compliant. The software on workstations also serve several purposes with security being #1. With the amount of phishing attempts that occur, we are able to pinpoint where that security breach came from if/when that does occur. It is not intended to make our employees feel as if they are being watched as we do respect privacy within reason. We are in the healthcare space so security is a priority. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with more specific information or suggestions on how we can improve. We are 100% committed to our employees and want to ensure everyone’s success!
