Stressful and Confusing

Pros

Most staff employees are nice to work and want to do their jobs well. Good benefits package with the exception of use it or loose it by year end vacation policy.

Cons

Poor communication from managers and between departments is widespread. Poor/no training. The work environment is confusing and dysfunctional. VERY unrealistic workloads dumped on staff. Terrible managers - too many don't know what they are doing; some have no clue what how to manage people; some micro manage their staff death leading to even more inefficiency. Low employee moral and high frustration. I would not recommend Rexel to anyone.

Rexel are an appalling company with a culture of bullying

Pros

They paid me on time, that is it.

Cons

Rexel were the worst company I have ever worked for, if I was allowed to score them 0 stars I would have, luckily for them 1 is the lowest score you can give. This is a company stuck in the 1980’s, their branches are old and falling down, the systems crash on a weekly basis and the culture is horrific. During my time there I witnessed bullying of colleagues, suppliers and customers! The senior management team have an inflated opinion of Rexel’s size and importance in a very competitive market and instead of focussing on attacking the opposition they spend their time witch hunting and bulling colleagues and attacking suppliers who they then claim are working in partnership with them! For a company with a CEO who is ex DHL the supply chain and availability of products to customers is a joke, many customers have walked away over the past year because of this. The leadership of the commercial departments idea of growing categories is to see how much more rebate they can get, the concept of growing categories through product and brand development is alien to them and frankly beyond their abilities. The recent coming together of N&E, Wilts, WF Sentate & Parker Merchanting is billed as One Rexel, for this you can read N&E takeover. Any process now follows the N&E way, which is the best way!!! From experiences in several organisations bigger and more advanced than N&E or Rexel I can tell them that this is definitely not the case, their thinking on supply chain, category management and marketing are decades behind competitors and industry best practice. I would urge anyone thinking or going to work for them to seriously think again, and for anyone still there to get out now.

Pros

Great pay...very competitive for the industry...great long term potential...very stable company

Cons

Some of the decisions by upper management has run off a lot of great employees. People are put into positions based on relationships and not experience, skill or education.
