Pros

Good work\life balance and flexible schedule.

Cons

Career opportunities as well as compensation are on the low end of average. There is no culture to be spoken of, which because senior management are too far removed from anyone or thing that is actually happening, that when initiatives are launched, they are mediocre at best, and to no avail. It is almost as if they were taken from a Management 101 textbook as opposed to really knowing what are the pain points in the company, and then holistically looking to fix or improve the situation.

Pros

Solid pay and benefits Solid technology with Eclipse host system and WMS system for logistics

Cons

Constant change from corporate on huge levels for past 3 years in a row. No real opportunity. Letting most of their veteran (5-15 year) employees leave for competitors over last 18 months. Can't win in the local market. Customer Service is a slogan or corporate buzz word, but really has very poor daily customer service, internally and externally. Good old boy network is huge from VP Level down to Brand and Area Manager levels. If your a GEXPRO Exec, your in control and promoted often, if your a Rexel Div VP or Branch Manager, you control your area or state and hire your buddies and promote them. Everyone else, myself included, languish for years in same position and then are laid off for other people less qualified. Distribution moved from team of long term employees to temps and 3rd parties who leave after 3-6 months, turnover is very high and experience and knowledge are weak in counter, inside sales, delivery, and warehousing. I had no boss or 4 different bosses over my first 5 1/2 years here, then the next year, another new boss was hired at corporate level and I was laid off after that. How to you get evaluated, engaged, plugged in, and excited about that? I feel like I have wasted my last 7 years of my career here. This is a soul less place that has no spirit, vision, or direction. Follow the path executive management at this company lays out, work here for a year or two to make some decent money and then find a real company to partner with, or one of their competitors.

Pros

Pay and benefits are good.

Cons

I have never worked at a company where Human Resources is so involved. They constantly stick their nose in where they really have no business or expertise. HR seems to be on a power trip lately. They took away remote work and forced most employees into a hybrid schedule, despite how successful we were with working remotely. Everyone I know at the Dallas HQ is pretty unhappy with the shift away from remote. They brag about being recognized as a "best place to work", but the survey they sent out didn't even address issues that were important to the employees. It is clear our voices aren't heard, and HR is just going to push their own agenda.
