The work life balance at Rice is optimal for a graduate student. Rice bioengineering faculty research cutting edge topics and have ample funding. The Graduate Student Association does a fantastic job of bringing the graduate community together with stellar social engagements that almost always feature free food and beer.

Cons

The campus health center switches to limited hours when the undergraduates leave for the summer. This can sometimes make it difficult to receive timely healthcare on campus.
