Pros

Too many cons to consider the pros.

Cons

RICK is in a sad, sad state of affairs. I would not recommend this organization to my worst enemy. The entire organization operates as it did in the 1980s with limited tech adoption and stagnant management who only received a management title because everyone in their department continued to drop like flies and finally they were the most tenured employee in said department. RICK is filled with nepotism and favoritism rather than meritocracy although if you’re willing to stay stagnant for a decade, you’ll be promoted in no time! ALL overhead departments such as IT (managed by a 65+ year old) or Communications (a department of 1 who no one takes seriously and is completely lacking in any communication expertise) are seen as a joke. The most forward-thinking “initiative” RICK did in the last year was to add a communications department. RICK never had any companywide news or newsletter or manager emails before that…NOTHING. The department went from one incompetent manager to a department of three. When the pandemic hit, in a time that an organization needs communication the most, the department dissolved and all that was left was the incompetent manager. No one knows what she does, but everyone knows that she has “relations” with her immediate manager. During COVID, RICK was slow to respond and even slower to make employee accommodations. The organization is completely disjointed with offices in Colorado, Arizona, and Nevada going rogue because corporate doesn’t know what they’re doing. I wouldn’t waste your time here. I would go to ANY OTHER engineering firm in San Diego and you’d receive better mentoring and streamlined business opportunities and training, far more than RICK would be able to provide on their best day.

Pros

Family-oriented culture. Participation in volunteer work and company events.

Cons

Archaic processes - this is how we've always done it attitude. Lacking progressive means (specifically laptops for marketing staff). Not much marketing strategy - proposals often expected often within 24 hours and weeks after RFP/Q release. Favoritism
