Pros

Salary is good- incentive program- relaxed atmosphere- independent working- vacation pay- holiday pay- nice co workers- clean office space- business casual dress code

Cons

Lacks communication from management - you are not really recognized for your loyalty and dedication directly- upper management should show support for your family life not just work - this job is not everybody's life

Amazingly HORRIBLE!!

Pros

If you can find something positive about this place, you must have been working elsewhere. In all fairness, there were some very nice and smart people, but because they are smart, they tend to leave and find something better for themselves.

Cons

Pay is nothing to write home about, neither are their benefits. Mediocre at best. Why I took a job here is beyond me. Certain managers are demeaning and belittling. some are just plain LAZY!! A lot of uneducated and unqualified people in their positions which led to a very disorganized and poorly run organization. HR Department needs to be run out of town and revamped with some qualified happy HR people, as does their Materials Group. How many times does a department need to turn over before they start looking at the people running that department. Doesn't take a genius to figure that one out. Not sure HR knows the meaning of their job and what an HR department is supposed to do. Good grief, get out of your office, walk around and talk to your people. SMILE! Encourage a welcoming environment. Good luck getting answers from HR too Making complaints fall on deaf ears. They don't care about their employees. I do not know first hand, as I don't have 401K, but would hear people complain about their 401K deferrals not being deposited in a timely manner and have made deposits AFTER the Federal deadline and getting excuse after excuse as to why it's not in their accounts. I do know a little bit about that, and they can be in some deep doo-doo if they keep doing that. Overall, this place sucks, but I'm not surprised. After reading the reviews on the parent company, seems those people feel the same way and actually have it worse than us. Take a job here at your own risk. Chances are you'll regret the decision and will be looking again. If you do work there, watch your back. Keep to yourself. Lots of fake people there. Be careful who you trust. So glad I got out and am in with a great company with a GREAT culture that takes pride in their employees and products!! This company is doomed to fail at the hands of MAT Holding. GM's hands are tied. Nice and smart guy, but not sure he'll be able to make a difference.

I hope it gets better, but I doubt it....seems to be getting worse!

Pros

Good work like balance - rarely work over 40 hours a week, fflexible with schedules (but some take advantage of it), some good and talented people, and from what I've seen the new GM falls into this category, too - just hope he sticks around and can do some good for this company. Office is relocating to a better facility in Farmington Hills, so that's a start. There are some good managers....I had a great one...until he left!! Benefits are okay. They offer 401K with up to a 4% match, health and dental (just OK), FSA. They are shut down between Christmas and New Years PAID, but I wouldn't be surprised if that goes away since our parent company and all their other companies do not have it off.

Cons

People are leaving in droves. Current building is a DUMP. 2nd floor has no windows. Atmosphere is drab and very depressing! Owned by MAT Holdings as of late 2012 - READ THEIR REVIEWS TOO because it doesn't seem like we are far off from them. I see a lot of similarities between the two organizations even before they bought us. The culture is very bad here. Bad mouthing, trash talking, cattiness (both men and women), and the negativity is constant. Giant black cloud looming overhead. Morale is vrey low!! There is no training or room for personal growth/advancement. Performance evaluations are a JOKE as well! Hopefully the new guy can see through all this BS and do something about it. Turnover is INSANE. I have never been at a company where I've seen an entire department change over 3 or 4 times since I've been there. There are so many open positions, some of the staff is overworked. Takes forever for these positons to be filled. Some departments are drowning in work. Can't seem to hire the "right" person for the jobs otherwise turnover wouldn't be so high. The HR department is terrible. Their onboarding program is pretty much non-existent and leaves new hires feeling unwelcome. No one takes the new hires around and introduces them. Takes forever to get issues resolved regarding benefits (and there are plenty of mistakes being made!!) - and you better scrutinize your paycheck and benefits EVERY time to make sure it is accurate. Very poor communication, too. It's like pulling teeth to get answers from them when something goes wrong (and things go wrong a lot). When you bring up a problem, no one acts with urgency or care. There is no accountability....just finger pointing! The culture here is HORRIBLE!!!! HR does nothing to drive a positive, employee valued culture either, which starts with the HR deparment. Several uneducated professionals (I use the word loosely) in specific areas of the organization. It is evident from all the mistakes they make and laws they are breaking. Not sure how some of these "higher-ups" get promoted without degrees.
