Pros

- CEO & COO and senior execs are truly great people. They are very down to earth, ask for feedback, and then act on that feedback. - Leadership is incredibly transparent - Great talent with an emphasis on a growth mindset - Constant improvement with structure & process. Hiring the right people to make this happen - Challenging. if you want the easy way out and to not challenge yourself, look elsewhere.

Cons

- Pivots and iteration is a great thing for improvement and alignment, but not everyone is cut out for start-ups. - When I started there were around 15+ initiatives. Now there are a few. Company listened and greatly improved focus, but the damage had been done and baggage created with some previous employees (as reflected in the negative reviews)

Trending in the right direction!

Pros

I've worked at various startups, so I'm used to chaos and ambiguity. Although RigUp, does have an element of that, it's certainly more put together than a lot of companies functioning in the "startup" category. I have a clear direction, know what success looks like, and have the support from all levels of management. The bonus is that I really enjoy everyone I work with! What I love about RigUp, is that I know my work matters. What we all work towards matters and it's very fulfilling. And at the end of the day, I know RigUp is trending in the right direction and that everyone is genuinely trying. I feel fortunate to be on this train, with this team, working towards something that actually makes an impact on the world.

Cons

This isn't a cush job. There is a sense of pressure to perform at a certain standard. I personally am motivated by that, but I've seen it push out coworkers. The other con could be the ups and downs of the industry. But with risk comes reward, and I feel confident the leaders have the knowledge to navigate this crazy time. They've already shown this through well-timed diversification.

Pros

I have had the privilege of working with RigUp for almost 3 years. I have seen the company through many phases of growth. During this oil downturn, I have never been more confident in our leadership and their direction. RigUp is, always has been, looking out for the best for its employees while ensuring the health of the company. Change makes people uncomfortable - but this has been why RigUp has been so successful, and why it will continue to be. We are able to adapt quickly in ever-changing environments. Our leadership is very transparent with the employees, and they always have been since I have started at the company. They have worked to become more transparent over the years to adapt to our growth by sending out weekly updates to the org structure and any other major company updates to make sure we are all on the same page. Additionally, Xuan and Mike have always made themselves available to ANY employee to reach out to them directly. I have had Xuan meet with me personally to go over some concerns I had in the sales org when reps were unhappy due to some toxic leadership. And my concerns were heard and implemented. How many startup employees can say that of their CEO? This environment they have created has fostered trust and loyalty in their employees. We have the autonomy and privilege to travel to meet our customers wherever they are. Leadership doesn’t micromanage us. They don’t chain us to our desks. Not to mention we are one of the highest paying software startups in Austin with free health insurance to ensure we attract top talent. We also have the privilege of working from home, if you so choose. Due to these benefits, we had almost NO turnover on our team. People knew they were working at a company that treated them right. Unfortunately, because of the autonomy that RigUp allowed its employees, there were multiple people who took advantage of it, who didn’t respect the privileges the company entrusted them with. Now because people have been laid off during a downturn, they are trashing the company on Glassdoor, and are pointing the finger at a company that allotted them so much trust and respect over the years. I cannot speak more highly of RigUp, and there is a reason that people stay so long. With every startup, there are uncomfortable changes that must take place in order for continued growth. They may not all be perfect, but RigUp Leadership has the best intentions, and those intentions will ultimately lead us to success. Fantastic pay. Transparent leadership. And the freedom to get your job done. If those are things that are important to you in a job, you’ll fit in just fine here.

Cons

I would say there is a bit of a "yes-man" mentality surrounding certain promotions given.
