Pros

A high energy level coupled with a spirit of constant innovation set the tone. This is an environment that I've always wanted to work in and I'm glad I found a place to build a career at RigUp. We're tackling new challenges and problems everyday as we are rapidly changing behavior in an industry that is historically stodgy and backwards. The opportunity here is massive and working on the product team you're encouraged to collaborate with all members of the org to problem solve. Our managers are thoughtful and the leadership have set a vision that has rallied the collective team and even the industry. The pay is very good so long as I'm delivering on goals and benefits are the best I've seen. My manager also encourages taking time off to recharge when we're not in some crazy sprint modes.

Cons

Not a place for those who prefer "touchy feely" management style. My manager is caring and looks out for me but also expects performance and results. You get brutally honest feedback in one v ones. I prefer this and openly realize some may prefer kum-ba-yah style organizations but RigUp this just isn't one of those places.

Pros

I've worked at several different types of workplaces in my career history including a small start-up, a small satellite office, a large public company, a mid-size private company, a public company in Europe, and a massive corporation. In my 10 years of work experience, RigUp is by far my favorite job I've ever had. I put a lot of value on working with extremely smart, driven, and goal-oriented people, and RigUp has these people. People are nice here, willing to help each other out, and working well as a team and collaborating is super important. Even though RigUp is about 2 years old, it's growing and on the up and up. I feel secure in my job, my opinions are heard, and my ideas are brought to the table. Ideas come from all departments and job titles and many are implemented, even from our Interns. RigUp also pays for 100% of your health benefits, which is awesome! Their location in Austin is super convenient and the office layout makes sense. Oh, and there are lots of windows. I've had jobs where I sit in a cubicle and I wouldn't know if there was a tornado outside...not at RigUp. Lots of natural light to keep you feeling sane throughout the workday. There's also a lot of opportunities to socialize with your fellow employees outside of work, but they aren't mandatory. Vacation time is flexible as long as you are getting your work done and making things happen. AND, you are rewarded if you meet your goal set. I could go on and on with the pros...

Cons

If you aren't willing to work hard or if you aren't able to easily adapt to different situations or a fast-paced culture, RigUp isn't for you. If you aren't proactive, RigUp isn't for you. And most importantly, if you have an ego, have some sort of dog-eat-dog agenda or don't work well with others, RigUp is definitely not for you. Otherwise, I have nothing bad to say about this company, and don't have any cons to share.

Fast-paced, interesting startup that rewards initiative

Pros

Very collaborative work culture that expects and rewards initiative. Lives at the intersection of two very interesting fields (oil & gas / SaaS technology), with opportunities to learn both. Fun, energetic office culture with some nice perks.

Cons

Fast pace and startup nature means lots of balls in the air...can occasionally be unclear what must be handled and what can be dropped. Probably not a good fit for someone who wants a lot of structure.
