      A roller coaster ride of change as Right tries to define itself in the HR consulting area.

      Pros

      You work with some great people who want to make a difference. There was a high level of collaboration among consultants and a desire to create something unique for the marketplace. Salaries were competitive.

      Cons

      Top leadership continued to make changes in structure that created a "top heavy" consulting organization, which eventually imploded during the economic downturn. In addition, there was not a commitment to invest in some of the consulting areas. Finally, most of the sales force was hired for selling outplacement and few were able to effectively sell consulting services.

      Get rid of that parent company

      Pros

      sometimes you do get to help real people, despite the firm's best efforts to "manage costs."

      Cons

      no benefits, no job security, the Career Consultants are treated like 2nd class citizens (eg, have no input into anything, are kept out of the workings of the business) and are seen as largely replaceable.
