Pros

There is a wide variety of work. Generally, you have lots of freedom with your schedule. Compensation is good.

Cons

The culture sucks. Management at Rimkus expects 50-60 hours of work per week from its employees. Even if you meet that expectation, you can expect to be reprimanded once a week for violating any of a million trivial rules. For example, you didn't put two spaces between all the sentences in your report. Every office does things differently. Yet, each one insists they are doing it the right way, the Rimkus way. If you have to work with different offices, you will be reprimanded, and sometimes berated, more than once a week and threatened with termination on a regular basis.

Pros

Company allows you to sell services and is not too hands on at the local level. The clients we call on are great and are very receptive to learning information of our expert witnesses.

Cons

Very poor upper level management, constant threats of downsizing and there is no room for growth. I would not waste my time with this company as they promise the world, but deliver nothing to promote growth. Management is top heavy.

Pros

Good intentions, but good intentions only go so far in the grand scheme of reality. The pay was ok if you like doing 3 jobs for the price of 1.

Cons

The lack of training is atrocious. "Wing it" is pretty much the company motto and that is exactly how you proceed through your day with the bare bones minimum, unprofessional, unorganized, hit and run type training you receive before you are launched to the wolves on your own. You only learn from your mistakes because management lacks knowledge and leadership and is therefore ignored when trying to convince the team to do anything they are supposed to do. If you take the initiative to independently problem solve, you are ostracized for it, yet no one has the time or proper steps established, everyone has their own little rules which often leaves you confused and constantly backpedaling. The systems are outdated and frequently crash, causing much down time, then catching up is a daunting task company wide. No suggestions are taken into consideration on how to better the system and work flow. A few of the departments are not team players, which greatly effects the company goals. Some coworkers are puffed up with their own importance and their personalities are a real yawn, laughter is almost non existent here. You don't even need a license for most of the work they do, it's simple common sense. They promise the clients the sky but don't deliver on deadlines due to incompetence and an unreasonable workload so you are then expected to do twice the work your peers do by squeezing in an extra job, which a department already exists for, just so they don't have to wait in line like the rest of the company.
