Pros

At the time the commission structure provided a huge incentive to fight tooth and nail for every deal. The company was doing incredibly well, so if you had momentum, you would be making big bucks on multipliers and bonuses.

Cons

When the company suffered, everyone suffered aside from those who were established as SAE's. The longer you had skin in the game, the stronger nepotism and more bias/politics came in to play. Managers and directors would feed deals to those they liked, and then celebrate those deals being closed– without disclosing they had a direct hand on the deal. Painting an unjust picture of colleagues doing hard work, when in actuality, they were just being fed deals.
