Pros

There are so many goods things to share. First let me tell you, 10 years ago I attended an auction to help the front counter. There was so much excitement and energy - I thought "WOW", this is where I want to be. My co-workers are like my family and everyone is fun to work with. RBA provides the best learning tools to help you succeed in any position. The pay is great - the insurance is amazing. I look forward to driving to work every single day - for one day is different than the next. I love assisting the customers and look forward to seeing them on auction day. You have to see it to believe it - please check our website for the next unreserved auction and see for yourself. I hope to see you soon.

Pros

State of the art new shiny head office, think ivory tower Ok benefits package

Cons

Be cautious of any company that endlessly and shamelessly self promotes itself as a really great place to work. Be sure to ask: How many times has Ritchie Bros. made a top employers list (BC or Canada)? The answer is ZERO! not once, not even close... and the long list of negative employer reviews here is just the tip of the iceberg as to why Ritchie Bros. will never be named as a top employer. That pretty much sums Ritchie Bros. as an employer up. The company had to hire a 'employer brand specialist' as a desperate attempt to increase Ritchie employer brand. Notice all the positive reviews since 2016? All new employees are almost forced to leave a positive review as part of their terms of employment It's a sad state of affairs at this company, interpersonal relationships are nasty Management is incompetent and ignorant, employees are treated as liabilities Watch out for the 'orange kool-aid' The culture at this company is toxic, most newer employees are literally barfing orange from have some lame older folk constantly ramming something that used to exist down their throats... Oh, and the dress code is super lame to...

UPDATE 02/22/2018. We applied and won! https://content.eluta.ca/top-employer-ritchie-bros-auctioneersinc Thank you for your passionate concerns, we take your comment very seriously. Unfortunately there seems to be a misunderstanding, we’ve never been an Employer of Choice because we have never submitted an application, which also requires a hefty fee – stay tuned as we aim for 2018! Listening to our employees and continuously looking for ways to improve is cemented in the foundation of Ritchie Bros’ success. This is why all employees are provided an opportunity to give anonymous feedback. With over 59 years in operation, our employees have curated a corporate culture around integrity, passion, entrepreneurism, diversity, inclusion and teamwork. These values underpin what it means to be a fit for Ritchie Bros.
