Pros

While working at Rite Aid I have found there is excellent opportunity to be promoted. The hours are flexible and managment is very understanding about meeting the needs of workers.

Cons

The pay is very low and especially if you work part time you will need another job to make enough income to support yourself.

Pros

This is a very fast paced environment. Easy for a person with desire to be hired as CoManager and be promoted to store manager relatively quickly.

Cons

Upper management is scrambling to come up with ideas that will bring in sales. Many programs coming out now are poorly thought out and detrimental to sales. For example, a new sign program was released that takes twice as long as the previous program to implement. The top 10% of the stores that are able to get these signs up will see an increase in sales. The other 90% will lose sales because the weekly signs aren't up until midweek if they are put up at all.

Pros

pay average, bennies OK. Mid-level management expectations are low. Cookie-cutter approach to pharmacy. Easy job if you want to punch in, work your shift, punch out, and not think about it until your next shift.

Cons

The company speaks of "culture change" and valuing employees, yet pharmacists are forced to work 12 hour shifts without meal breaks. Understaffed. <Begin loop>. Company's poor profitability results in technician staffing cuts which results in poor customer service <end loop> Company is bleeding money. Hasn't turned a profit in years and numbers are on the decline. Job future highly uncertain.
