Pros

chill atmosphere, management is friendly, open to communication, and cooperative; holiday sales displays are fun, regular customers can make your day.

Cons

pay is not that desirable, the stores can be a little boring especially being front end cashier. not bad if you want to coast.

Pros

I always felt very secure in my position, never worrying about being laid off or let go. Another positive is my store is located in an urban area, so I had many opportunities to get to know my peers.

Cons

Career growth beyond store manager is very limited. I have seen three openings in my region in five years. Another negative is, my supervisor fails to communicate that you have done a good job.

Pros

Flexible hours. Nice people. Good first job experience. Not much room for growth in individual stores, but place to learn the basics.

Cons

Irregular management. Different stores seem to have different rules. Everything is highly subjective and it is no more than what it appears, a cashier's job.
