Nice managers, and good coworkers.

but sadly corporate is a headless chicken; and are causing a lot of hardship for the people they are laying off.

Toxic coworkers and terrible management. When I got hired I had agreed to being available for certain shifts just like several other employees as I had another job at the time. One day, after 6 months, management scheduled me on a time I couldn't work and he said "you never filled out a notice of availability, the schedule isn't changing". I repeatedly asked throughout the week to have that shift off and even had someone working there offer to cover and management refused. Eventually the time came and I called into the shift and was fired for that. The sad part was this rite aid was on the same block as my other job. So for the next few years anytime I went in there to buy something the same cashiers would talk smack to my face about that incident.
