Pros

You receive certification through the company but You just have to pay for your own background and fingerprinting after passing.

Cons

Low pay, High turnover rate, Automatically placed in rotation to work even though you barely know anything. Being rushed through PTU's because they never have any full-fledged techs. Everyone's always in training. The stress levels is enough to make you want to pull your hair out screaming and running out the pharmacy. Pharmacist has specific hours to schedule you for ptu's but will schedule you as if you're doing them and instead make you work because again short staffed. Instead of actually learning what you need in order to actually fulfill the needs of the job you get yelled at and called dumb for not knowing. Always being threaten by pharmacist that you will be fired for not picking up more shifts or working pass your schedule time or not picking up the phone fast enough. I worked quite a few shifts being the only tech for about 5 to 6 hours alone which should have been at least a 4 tech shift. Getting spit on, cussed out and things literally thrown at you by customers was not on my bingo card to work as a pharmacy tech because medications were never ready or in-stock. So disorganized even when you get asked to work at other stores other than your main base because again short staff. This place was literally robbed 3 times in less than 2 months of me being hired there. The pharmacist is a male chauvinist. He literally said to our faces if it was ever a time anything went down between his techs and him getting fired over something he might have said or did in the pharmacy that He would lie like hell to save his own a$%. (verbatim) and that we are techs so who would believe us over him anyways. They need him more than us. He can always hire more techs. He's right from all the complaints that has been thrown at this man. Nothing ever comes from it. Worst job I have ever experienced. To be payed as low as you get for the emotional and mental anguish you receive is not worth it. It's times techs would literally go to there car and cry with anxiety and helplessness in fear of going back in after lunch, I was one of them. I see a lot of companies really relish in that quote by John D Rockefeller, "I want a nation of workers not thinkers" so well.
