Pros

Very nice HR reps, spa manager, and team members. Everyone here is like a tight knit work family, we help one another to succeed in our day to day work. Spa services has a mandatory 23% gratuity so massage therapists get 18% and Spa concierge/spa attendants get 5% in a tip pool which averages about $200-300 per week depending on how many people worked that week & how many clients we had.

Cons

Far from home because it's in Uptown Dallas so 1 hour drive. Scheduled almost every weekend, so day goodbye to Saturdays and Sundays because of hotel life.

Pros

This company is very prestigious. They provide competitive wages and excellent benefits like paid vacation (if you can get approved), tuition reimbursement, 401(k) profit sharing, and opportunities to relocate to many destinations around the world within the brand. Everyone is expected to maintain and exceed brand standards with guests and each other. They took very good care of employees in Maui during the pandemic providing them with medical coverage during furloughs.

Cons

Very demanding and high pressure, many blackout dates for vacations

Pros

Not everyone was terrible. Residences Department was delightful and supportive. They also had diverse employment.

Cons

As many of our guests expressed, this property (Key Biscayne) did not feel like a Ritz-Carlton. You could tell that they were stringent with resources. The management gave very futile support. Everyone had an attitude and were just as entitled as the guest that stayed there. I have worked as other luxury brands and have never experienced such low levels of respect and professionalism. They make you feel incompetent and unvalued. They over work their employees and have little to no incentives. Whatever Kool-Aid they are pouring at other Ritz Carlton properties, is definitely not served here.
