Great non-profit with growing pains

Pros

excellent benefits. a lot of sick leave. vacation was standard 2 weeks/year. great position if you're starting out your career in biology. flexible schedule and occasional WFH was acceptable. really meaningful work.

Cons

it was growing fast while i was there and at times i felt under-valued and stressed out by the workload. a lot of travel was expected, and it can lead to burn out. promotions and moving up felt unattainable.

Good mission. You do feel like you're contributing to significant positive change in the world.

Cons

Employees aren't valued at this organization. The focus is always on obtaining money. Pay is low. Diversity and inclusion are not big priorities for them, though they like to pretend they're progressive. Neurodivergence is unwelcome here.
