Pros

I really had an amazing experience overall with Riviera Country Club. The establishment is pristine, and my co-workers had a can do attitude. My manager and assistant manager were both very kind but kept us busy. My manager would typically put a lot of guards out for shifts, so when it came towards the end of the day we were able to leave early as we wanted or needed. My manager was understanding towards our needs and wants, and if someone was not feeling well or simply wanted to get off early, we could let her know and she would happily accommodate. In addition, and to some most importantly, we had a cafeteria for staff filled with leftovers from the food that was uneaten by members. The food was delicious and helped me save my money which I really needed to do!!! As a young adult needing a summer job, I highly recommend joining this team for fun, a bit of hard work, but a lot of laughs!

Cons

The job of a lifeguard may seem simple, but this position was much more tedious in terms of maintaining the pool than I had anticipated. I was more than happy to do the cleaning managing required amongst the team of lifeguards in an effort to all collectively get the job done, but there were times where the cleaning felt unneccsary and simply a means to keep the staff looking busy to the clients. On the one hand, I completely understand and value the prestige that comes with being a part of a luxury country club staff, I did feel at times a little overworked, as our shifts were quite long. However as mentioned if we wanted or need to leave early, my manager was sure to accommodate to the circumstances of each individual, which I greatly appreciated.
