Complete Garbage

Pros

The pay is decent. They say “top of market”, but that’s only true of SWE positions.

Cons

Where do I start? - Worst hiring practices I’ve seen in my 15 year career. - Leadership doesn’t talk about uncomfortable truths. - Sociopathic need to get everyone back into the office. Ironic for a supposed metaverse company. - Very top down management. - Constantly changing goals. - The worst leaders hire clones of themselves. - Poor diversity. - Inability to execute on large scale projects. - Not living our own values. “Take the long view” is often ignored when discussing large engineering efforts.

One of the best decisions ever made to join Roblox

Pros

It was a hard decision to leave my other job to join Roblox. Turned out to be a truly transformative place with smart, collaborative people to work with. Minimum bureaucracy. Managers care about people growth as well as getting s*** done. Executives visionary and approachable. Infrastructure came a long way. Huge impact made and being made. Tons of opportunities ahead.

Cons

Oftentimes too busy keeping the light on.
