Pros

Much opportunity to build skills because everything is a fire to be put out. Good pay

Cons

This company is a chaotic mess. There is NO leadership at this company. NONE. Typical silicon valley startup. Junior employees are promoted to manage and "lead" teams because they have technical skills, not leadership skills. They hired me and did NOTHING to onboard me. I was left drowning. Stakeholders complained when I couldn't answer their questions. I was given no help. Nobody here cares about you. They will talk about you behind your back. They will yell at you. They will tell you you're great during interviews and after you're hired they'll tell you that you're incompetent, inadequate and need to do better. This is why I left. This is not a place that seeks to build their employees, it's a place where employees are stressed and they take it out on whoever isn't accepted. I wasn't accepted. The entire time I was there, I was spoken down to and made to feel like I was on the outside. They will tell you that your mental health is important but they were the primary source of my anxiety and stress. It was an abusive relationship and it felt victorious to end it. Idealistic CEO didn't want to focus on revenue saying, "If we focus on engagement, revenue will follow." Then after a quarter of low revenue, all road maps changed and sole focus became... revenue. We're all watching on the sidelines as he learns how a company works. I have reason to believe that HR lied to me during the interview process. Told me relocation to bay area was mandatory unless I took a pay cut to live in one of 6-7 other US states that were on their payroll. They told me that none of my preferred states were on their payroll. After I joined I found out there were indeed employees working in those states. Do you love Google docs? This company has more Google docs than there are atoms in the universe, and there's absolutely no organization to it. Do you want to work for a company whose mission is to get kids to sit in front of a screen more than they already do? Roblox does. Do you want to work for a company whose product looks like it was designed by Craigslist?
