Pros

Interesting product. Nice co workers. Good pay.

Cons

As the company and tech stack has grown we spend more and more time in process issues (setup tasks, tooling, broken build, trying to understand old undocumented code, secret knowledge) and less just building new features. Leadership reneged on commitment to allow remote work. Shows a lack of respect, lack of empathy, lack of integrity.

Pros

* Innovation! So many exciting products in the works. Roblox is changing the world, in a very positive way. * Truly concerned about safety and civility. Our goal is to connect people with civility and optimism sets us apart from other companies. * Far reaching! Opportunity to connect folks from all around the world. Imagine a world where there are no language barriers, where ethnicity and genders are not discriminated against. We imagine this every day, and we work toward making it a reality. * So many opportunities to help us achieve these and other lofty ambitions. * Teams really like each other and care deeply about their colleagues. Life long friendships are made everyday on Roblox, and within our company! and then.... * Micro Kitchens amply stocked. Excellent free lunches. Delicious coffee bar. ...and all those other normal perks (dental, vision, medical, ESPP...)

Cons

* Hybrid work is 3 days/ week in office, with very few exceptions. This has caused a bit of saltiness and a fair degree of vitriol. BUT Dave our CEO opened up AMAs to address this in a very transparent fashion, and accepted responsibility for making this call. Our culture has always been to foster cross functional creativity. Currently there is no substitute for organic encounters in person to foster this. When tech catches up, and it will, I am sure our policy will evolve. For some this is a huge con. But it really gets us back to fostering circumstances that enabled the visionary vibe that got us to where we are. * Change management has historically been a bit rough.

Pros

- How friendly people are until they become trashy middle managers. - Executives usually mean well and genuinely care. - Executives are also generally accessible.

Cons

- Middle managers and up to some Directors are trash (lack of maturity and or experience). - They set expectations one way then say and do things differently. All to make sure they look good instead of doing the right thing. - Immature middle managers will straight up ghost you. - Inexperienced trashy middle managers and directors do not think critically about the situation nor do they look to learn and understand the full picture. - These same people are very quick to complain, rat you out, and write you off even though you on the same team working towards the same goal.
