Toxic management within the shared service center. Annual reviews and merit/bonuses go to those who work the least amount in the department but can talk a good talk. Managers don’t show appreciation to those who do their jobs or those who go above and beyond. Those who do go above and beyond get compensated less than those who talk about everything they do. (When those people probably work 20 hours a week then add overtime to their time cards)

The culture changed, in my opinion, with the new CEO in North America. They used to be focused on customer first and attracting and retaining the best and most talented employees. In my experience they have become more bottom line driven, evidenced by layoffs after a phenomenal growth year. I know many top tier employees that were let go, with no effort by Roche to retain them. These layoffs also left many key customers without ideal support. In other words, what they say and what they do are two different things.
