      Pros

      Friendly co-workers. Everyone in English department was very helpful in helping me create a syllabus, etc. Working in the writing center was a very rewarding experience as well.

      Cons

      The pay. A lot of work for very little compensation. Also, RVC rarely hires its own adjuncts for their full time, tenure track positions. I don't begrudge them that fact, but if you are an adjunct and looking to get hired on full time the chances are very, very slim.

      Working with people and helping them to figure out career goals and building their livelihood

      Cons

      The program was federally funded and the uncertainty of job stability was a bit overwhelming.
