Pros

Infinite resources, genuine and passionate junior and support scientists who unfortunately are bullied by heads of labs

Cons

Worst people to ever work for, each scientist is out for their own gain, no problem standing on top of bodies of graduate students and postdocs without giving them any credit for the work

Pros

Rockefeller is nice and has lots of benefits. Right by the hospital, university housing (a little noisy due to entrance to Manhattan and everyone honking all night long). There is a tennis court and 2 squash courts. Nice views!

Cons

Your experience in with your adviser can be very different. When you get this high in academia, expect some un-compromising and non-understanding professors. I suggest interviewing the professor for personality before you accept.

Pros

Flexible scheduling and some wonderful co-workers

Cons

Favoritism, racism, sexism and everything that goes with the unholy Trinity of unprofessionalism. Management is extremely unprofessional. There are inappropriate sexual relationships in management and it is not secretive. Many of the research technician do not care about the animals that they work with. IACUC is extremely weak and doesn't seem to care what goes on in the labs. You get promoted base on how much gossip you bring to upper management and not on qualifications. Absolutely no diversity in upper management.
