Rockefeller contributes to retirement after working 2 years. Many on campus lectures to improve knowledge on various scientific techniques. Decent health benefits from employee health. Beautiful campus.

Cons

At times highly stressful to complete experiments in short time. Not much room for advancement at Rockefeller.

Pros

The university treats its postdocs really well. The salary is higher and benefits are better than any other school I have seen, including all NYC schools. The facilities are amazing, and the scientific community is stellar.

Cons

The university provides subsidized housing for postdocs, but the housing department is terrible and the rent prices, while low for Manhattan, account 50-90% of the postdoc salary. Expect to dip into savings unless you have a partner who makes a lot of money.
