Pros

You get to work with some of the smartest people from many different engineering disciplines. I personally get to work with a great team of engineers and interact with lots of other awesome teams who are experts in their fields. You get to solve unique problems, the kinds of problems that we solve on a daily basis are not like what you’d find at other companies, they’re always different and often require creative solutions.

Cons

Rocket Lab is very much in the transition from start-up to an established manufacturing and engineering company. With this transition comes lots of change. So if you're looking for a position that's set in stone, where it's only ever maintenance and you don't usually need to come up with new ideas or solutions, then this might not be the company for you. But if you're looking for a place where you can stretch your arms a bit and really solve some awesome problems, here's the right place.

Hi there, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review, we really appreciate it! We’re so glad to hear that you’re happy working here and that there are so many things you enjoy about your job. As you’ve said, we are transitioning from the start-up days where things would change by the minute, to an established leader in the global field of small-sat launch, and we acknowledge that there are upsides and downsides to this. The company’s innovative, adaptable ethos means that we can solve problems quickly and efficiently, and this has been a massive factor in why we’ve been able to have such great success so far. We love hearing that the challenge of doing so excites the incredible minds that we are lucky enough to have in the team! In terms of long term planning, we hope the recent all hands meeting, which shared our strategic goals for 2020 and beyond, highlighted just how much work is going into forward planning and communication. We look forward to working with you in 2020 to turn this strategy into a reality. - Rocket Lab People and Culture

Pros

I love working at Rocket Lab. I work with fantastic people who are smart, encouraging and always up for a laugh. Our team gets to tackle tough problems and we have a lot of freedom in how we go about solving them. I also have a sweet work/life balance. What’s more, we get to play our part in sending rockets to space. Rocket Lab is growing, so there are many opportunities to help shape the company and make a difference. I was a bit intimidated by Rocket Lab before I started, but since working here I can say that it has exceeded my expectations. Great people, heaps of fun, exciting times!

Cons

I think we still have a way to go before we see alignment of values across teams and departments. There are pockets within the company that don't have the most positive work culture, as evident by some of the negative reviews on here, however the company has been putting a lot of effort in recently to change this.
