Pros

Great company, actually the best company I have ever worked for. The corporate culture is second to none. The training is top notch. The facilities and equipment used are state of the art and constantly being improved and upgraded. Dan Gilbert has a saying "A Penny Earned is a Penny" and the company lives this motto! They will spend whatever it takes to please employees. There is no other company that I know of where you can walk through the door without any degrees or previous experience and have the potential to make $15,000 per month right out of training. It happens, I have seen it for myself several times. There are 21 year old college graduates making $12K a month steady at their first job EVER.

Cons

Too many hours. It is like the Frog in the pot. They start you at 9-hours in training then it's 10-hours in Blueprint on to 12-hours in The Game. Once you become a mortgage banker in the experienced region the have you scheduled "9am-7pm" but it's actually 7:30am to whenever due to meetings, training, and daily recaps at the end of the shift. The worst thing is the scripting that sucks the creativity out of your sales approach. At one time I am being chastised from veering from the script and simultaneously encouraged to be more creative and make it my own? A lack of life balance really killed it for me as I was working 12-13 hours a day and then 6-9 hours on Saturdays. Once I was approached on working Sundays to increase my book of business I was done. Top performers work 7 days a week going through the whole month without a day off and they are praised as Warriors and rewarded with Casual-wear workweeks... and $15K commission checks

At times hard to find your leader to obtain more work.
