Pros

Market rate pay and benefits (you’re selling your soul for this, though!)

Cons

Work life balance is nonexistent. Grinding, pointless early morning big team and small team standups start the day off as the world’s worst alarm clock and remove the flexibility of everyone’s day. Continue the daily grind with more meetings on meetings, often times double booking them. Meetings about meetings. Once your energy is perfectly sapped from this horrific implementation of SAFe Agile (aka permanent bootcamp), be prepared to be overworked to make up for wasted time in meetings. No win is ever truly celebrated other than a brief mention at the retro - rather, the faster you get work done, the faster they pile on more tasks. It’s Agile at its worst. There’s a balance there and they’ve chosen the ‘severe’ end of the spectrum. You’ll get paid decently (if you negotiate), but you’ll have absolutely zero work life balance, never any chance to breathe. You’re always running your motor in the red - else they’ll chew you up and spit you out. As a software engineer, it’s like working at Netflix, but without Netflix pay (look into Netflix culture if you don’t know what I mean). Be prepared to get poor sleep (8am standups daily) and completely sacrifice your life outside of work for this cult-like company (btw - the ‘isms’ are a joke and need to be done away with. They make the company look terrible). It really is gross. Middle and upper management constantly mentioning ‘Jay’ (Jay Farner) by his first name as if he’s their good buddy and a God. The cult-like antics here are cringeworthy. If you want a life, pass on this opportunity. If you’re strapped for cash, take it until you find some place offering more money and some semblance of work life balance.

Pros

Good company, good ethics, good diversity, good people.

Cons

All smoke and mirrors, you might get on a good fun team and do well, many people do but comp is lackluster, management is mediocre it's not the most exciting company in finance and it's just not a good place to be as a senior technical staffer. Don't fall for the false positivity, unless you live in Detroit and have worked there most of your career you'll make more money, have more opportunity and be valued more elsewhere.
