Hi ceiling for experience, Low ceiling for salary growth
Pros
Rockwell Group offers the opportunity for young & talented designers to work on high-profile and high-interest hospitality, retail, and other projects. The studio is pleasant, casual, and comfortable, and the coworkers are generally wonderful people. I've made more friends while here than at any other firm. There's often a happy hour somewhere in the office, which is conveniently located near almost everything fun. Also, bring your (well-behaved) puppy to work, and wear whatever you want.
Cons
As with many design firms, they do allow for a great deal of financial advancement in the firm. Hours tend to be long, paid holidays are few, and there are limited vacation days. This tends to lead to a high turnover. Additionally, one could argue that they often give too much leeway to younger (read: inexperienced) designers that can lead to project mismanagement or an inconsistent quality of work.
