Pros

RWU is managed by self-serving bureaucrats. This may sound like sour grapes, but it isn't. Senior staff are white, rich men who are completely disconnected from the challenges and problems on the ground staff and faculty face every day. I can think of only one pro to write about this employer: that in spite of moribund and toxic senior management, middle management and faculty somehow manage to keep the place going.

Cons

No opportunity for middle managers, faculty, students, alumni or parents to have a real voice in addressing the genuine problems this institution faces. Decisions are made behind closed doors by the men who are responsible for managing the institution. These decisions, over and over again, do not reflect the very real problems staff and faculty face every day. Doubtful the institution can prevail if this kind of senior management continues.

What a joke

Pros

The beautiful campus (even though parking is horrible).

Cons

Unless you are a narcissistic, incompetent, sluggish white male you will not be valued at this institution. Worker bees do everything, while management and executives take all the credit and try to paint a picture of a functioning institution. They are in a horrible financial situation, which affects daily like and morale. Faculty gossip to students and run a muck, but cannot be touched because of their union contracts. Salaries are a JOKE with no rooms for advancement. Some faculty make 120K+, while 40hr/w staff make 50k. Office budgets are so tight they can barley order office supplies without the President signing off first. HR does not help or intervene when managers abuse their staff. People are leaving in droves, almost every department has vacancies - some without the ability to refill positions. Staff are overwork, underpaid, under appreciated, overlooked and generally abused by managers that should not even be allowed to interact with the rest of society. I am banking on the University College shutting down in the next few years and the school closing its doors not too long after - at least that is what the place deserves. P.S. the diversity and inclusion content they push in the interview process is not real and will never be brought up again after you are on boarded-just saying.

Pros

Campus is beautiful! By far the best part of working at RWU was the location. Students are engaged.

Cons

Administration was horrible. This place has the opposite effect of a morale boost. Employees were not reward for hard work or taking on additional responsibilities. I started to job search almost immediately after starting to work here. No innovation in processes or thoughts. Organization is too top heavy.
