Pros

Great training and ok mentorship. Really good benefits and manageable work life balance. My manger was wonderful. I love the firm culture and

Cons

The work was pretty tedious and there was a big discrepancy in the paralegal salary and the amount of work they had to take on. Everyone worked overtime so there was certainly additional pay on top of the base salary but over my time there I did not see much of an increase. I tried to have a bonus conversation with my boss and was pretty much shut down. The New York office is also pretty depressing, as a paralegal you can only see a window in the cafeteria.

Pros

- High trust given to you during the day, able to manage day to day on your own - Some awesome coworkers - Nice benefits

Cons

- They won't tell you upfront that a lot of your work is for private equity. Shady. - Lots of hidden rules (welcome to Corporate America, I guess?), can be jarring for someone who doesn't fully understand the hierarchy at a law firm, that Partners can get away with verbal abuse because they "put in the work" to have ownership at the company. But they won't tell you upfront and will act like "everyone is super approachable!" when that is a lie. - They don't want you to deeply understand the work you're doing and why, they just want you to execute it. This is a general trend in Corporate America where leadership benefits off of people "staying put" in their lower levels of work. - Tattle tale culture (but that's also Corporate America) - Trying to get me to check my phone as soon as I wake up, even though I'm not clocked in... stealing employee time - Fired me right before I could file for accommodations for my mental disability, making up reasons for things that could have easily been worked through and trying to smear all the blame on me
