Pros

- you're employed, which beats the alternative -great alternative to the 'traditional' types of sales jobs. yes, this is a SALES job.

Cons

-LOW base pay. $38K. The bonus' don't become relevant until MAYBE after a full year, if you're good. -this is a sales position. The company couldn't care less about the candidates. They're just numbers to this company. -They make you memorize a silly company objective thing that they don't even apply internally, although if you let them tell it, they do. -Unprofessional environment. Constant talk about religion and politics. Racist jokes included. -No growth for a person who is truly trying to advance their professional career.

Best Company I've Worked For

Pros

I've worked in a handful of industries and companies...I never realized working for a staffing company would be so rewarding, plus, the company itself genuinely cares about its employees and the people it serves. It's privately-owned so that means the decisions made really are about what's best for the company and not what's best for a board of shareholders. Things are pretty transparent and the company lets everyone know what's going on. They seek our input and listen to us when we gripe about the challenges we're facing ... and yet they push us to do our best and to work harder than the rest of the industry. I really, really love the values this company espouses and the fact that they sincerely want to do good things for others and always do the right thing.

Cons

The technology. Some of the systems we have at our disposal is impressive, but alot of our technology infrastructure has some catching up to do and instead of just admitting that "we're getting there" or "this is the best we can do at this time" we sometimes hear silly excuses. This is more a comment to the management of the technology department since this is NOT the case for any of the other corporate resources or organization leaders.

Pros

If you're extremely lucky you might work with a great group of people and if you don't let management get in your way you can make a lot of money.

Cons

This family owned business is short sighted, reactionary, unsophisticated, and they promote family members far too frequently (lack of experience and education notwithstanding). Take a close look at Ben Roth's two sons and their director level involvement with the company immediately after graduation, for example. And despite the fact that a college degree is supposed to be a requirement before hiring, there are Senior Vice Presidents with only high school educations (and even these VPs hire their relatives).

Roth Staffing Response
12y
We sincerely appreciate your review and feel the topic of "family" is an important one to address on this forum since the Roth Staffing organization is, in fact, owned by the Roth family. Of the 100+ managers at Roth Staffing, only four have a relation to the Roth family name including the founder, Ben Roth (father), the President, Adam Roth (son), and the director and person who launched the technology staffing line, Brett Roth (son). Both Adam and Brett started with the company at an entry level position and "worked the desk" for more than two years before advancing into management roles. Both quickly excelled and achieved top performer success in offices separated and independent from the corporate headquarters. Both are respected and admired by their peers and were recommended by fellow company leaders to take on additional leadership roles. After serving in an entry level position, Adam launched an entirely new line of staffing (legal staffing) and served in a management role for two years before being asked by the senior leadership team to assume a senior role within the Roth Staffing organization. It's also important to note that with Ben, Adam and Brett in senior leadership positions, the company continues to be recognized as one of the best employers in the entire industry, its customers continue to verify in independent research studies that Roth Staffing continues to deliver experiences at an exceptional level, and the temporary employees and candidates served by the company continue to validate in a variety of indpendent studies that Roth Staffing is the very best company to temp for. There are lots of areas for improvement and Roth Staffing's leadership continues to be motivated and energized by the possibilities of what the company can still achieve and the impact it can make on the lives of the people who work for the company and those served by the company. Your review mentions that a lucky coworker will get to work with a great group of people and we are assuming this was the case for you ... however, the make-up of the senior executive team had you concerned. Your review gives positive reinforcement of our work/life balance and career opportunities and you wrote that you can make a lot of money. Most of the people who work at Roth Staffing are not motivated solely by the money they can make. Most come to our company because the culture and philosophies match their own. Perhaps the culture was not a fit for you and we certainly wish you the best in finding an organization in which the leaders and culture provide you with greater security. But we thank you for bringing up your concern regarding the family members who help manage the Roth organization and the opportunity it gives us to tell future candidates researching our company that, for us, these Roth family leaders have helped our organization achieve remarkable success.
