Developed professional & personal awareness as I saw my stress accumulate/ inefficiency continue only to squeeze profits
Pros
Relatively high amount of freedom for management in the day to day operations of the store. For other drivers- good money from tips, flexible scheduling, great job for students. Shift leads/crew members - perfect entry level job to get in and move on quickly after learning necessary kitchen or customer service skills.
Cons
As manager I was overworked and undercomensated. Actually to the point where it was illegal. Didnt have a day off for 7 months, 65-70 hour weeks sometimes. As the owner got used to cutting positions, he had me start running both stores and paying me barely more than one. I had no other store managers or assistant managers. I was thrust into the position after managers kept quitting and no training was ever given to me. I guess I did learn how to solve issues on the fly. I dont blame the 93 year old owner for selling when I finally quit. He was just trying to increase profits to get a better sales price.
