Pros

Royal Ambulance is a great BLS company to start working for in the SF Bay Area due to their commitment to employee success and wellbeing. The company is great with employee flexibility whenever they are taking classes or have to study for a test. The emergency cases at Royal are great for teaching purposes that will help teach employees the fundamentals of good patient care.

Cons

The company could have been slightly better with resource planning, but they did a great job at trying to improve everyday.

Royal ambulance has one of the most positive, supportive environments I have ever worked in. On top of that they do a fantastic job selecting employees for hire.

Cons

long days, bu t thats top be expected of an ambulance job.

Great start into BLS as an EMT

Pros

Even as a private ambulance company, you gain great experience as an EMT with not only IFTs but also code 2 emergency calls. Not to mention, there is a strong family atmosphere and you will "ride or die for the purple." I hear they are now offering scholarships for employees for nursing school and paramedic school.

Cons

If only the starting wages were higher, but this is difficult to find as a starting EMT. Also, be aware of possibility of being held over past your shift hours when there are additional calls or last call is long. But comes with the job.
