Pros

Flexible hours, useful career training in many cases

Cons

Pay is decent but not great, and graduate work-study may be getting cut in favor of undergrad work-study based on changes in federal regulations, but how/when this will happen is unclear.

Pros

Pros: good benefits, nice coworkers, stuck to the hours specified. Decent location. Large institution if you want to move around.

Cons

Union environment so lots of drama. Not a lot of opportunity to move up without switching departments.

Pros

More laid back environment than corporate. Make sure if you want to work with students you carefully ask questions in the interview. I wish I was working with students more - instead I'm doing administrative busy work most of the time.

Cons

Lots of busy work and inefficiency.
