Pros

Life as a doctoral student is really rewarding here. There are a lot of resources at Rutgers to help with research, writing, and presenting. There are also a lot of opportunities throughout the school that you might not get anywhere else. The campus culture is unique as well!

Cons

Rutgers is a big school, and so it's easy to get overwhelmed and lost in all of the bureaucracy and politics. Fellows could be treated much better as far as benefits go. As of writing this review, fellows do not get the same healthcare benefits that TAs and GAs do.

Pros

As a graduate student, working in the Art Library was one of my best job experiences. I had the opportunity to work on archival special projects, collection development, circulation and reference. Although the collection focus is art-related, we provided assistance to undergrads in other subject areas as well. It was a great work environment.

Cons

Many of the people I worked with are no longer there, hopefully the new staff are just as pleasant and supportive.
