S3 is still a fairly new/young company - founded in 2012. I think it's still finding it's way and determining it's true identity. It grew very fast in a very short period of time - without time to really examine all the ways it needed to change and flex to accommodate that growth. It's trying to do that now.
While S3 is a CUSO doing back office work, we are still dealing with human beings and I think sometimes it's easy to forget that - on all fronts. With members, team members, and managers. Part of working at S3 is learning how to navigate those waters. How to have meaningful conversations, how to listen, and come up with effective resolutions. I know that there are some departments that struggle with this. Both internally and with the members.
It is a kind of unspoken fact that S3 pays less than other companies in the same field. Personally, I value more than just money. I look for a place that provides opportunities, comfort, and general contentedness. What good is saying you make X amount of money, if you're miserable all the time?
