Just Another Temp Agency

Pros

SAIC has a great HQ office with fancy shmancy cafeteria in McLean, VA.

Cons

SAIC must have hired some young female interns in Communication Studies this summer to write glowing positive reviews on Glassdoor. They are just another butts in seats temp agency for the federal government. Around 75% of their business depends on the federal government contracting sector. They aren't really scientists anymore innovating cool new products, like the kids in Silicon Valley. I am certain there are people buried so deeply in the top heavy layers of management and bureaucracy at SAIC, people who "telecommute," but no one ever sees them or gets any actual work product out of them. Most of these are retired military, but imagine what our national economy would be like if retired tank commanders couldn't get a job as a Vice President at a company like SAIC? And they get their wives jobs here, too! So the wife stayed at home with the kids and has no work experience outside the home? SAIC will find a job for her. Take the daughter to work with you, too, and especially if she has a degree in Communication Studies, SAIC will find a job for her, too! If you're a real scientist, you'll be getting your layoff notice.

Pros

Wasn't unemployed - but that's about all to recommend this company to anyone looking for work or a career, with a military background it might be a good place to work

Cons

Boring, monotonous job. Poor management, archaic way of working, Clique abound, competitive people who would rather steal credit than actually work.
