Pros

Pay was above average for this area. I was given significant responsibility and minimal management interference in completing my projects. I got the opportunity to travel worldwide.

Cons

Although I was not, most of my engineering colleagues were micromanaged. Morale was low. Some employees were kept on and even promoted despite consistent incompetence. Engineering was pushed to standardize systems and reduce cost, but sales promised custom systems to each customer.

Pros

I expect experiences at SAIC to be quite varied because of the agglomeration of smaller organizations it has acquired. I had a great group of really smart co-workers.

Cons

Projects varied widely in their organization, coordination, and collaboration. It may sound strange, but one of the biggest frustrations was 10 minute time-tracking that did not allow 15 minute increments
