Pros

Entrepreneurial sprirt, ability to do what you're interested in (as long as there's a buyer for those services)

Cons

it's highly fragmented and disorganized, and divisions compete against each other for the same contracts, which leads to confusion among clients and dilution of the brand. And pay is not very good because most of the contracts that SAIC wins are low-margin and low-dollar.

Pros

SAIC i s good company to start your career with, however i have noticed that if you stay with the company long enough you will get the management roles, as majority of the senior management in the company has been with SAIC for 10+ years. During interview i was told that if you stay with the company for first 4-5 years than most probably you are not going to leave. However if you are joining SAIC as a experineced, than make sure you are getting a good postion with good pay, because i have seen that there is a quite a bit difference in pay for people performing same job with same experince level.

Cons

I have not seen any downside with working at SAIC, however it feels to me that it is ok if you are working at the manager level, however just a regular employee you are not treated as well, and not paid as much.

Pros

SAIC has managed to get some interesting work ranging from the Space program to C4ISR work in Iraq/Afghanistan. Managers do not micro manage and leave the employees alone to work with the customer. Compared to most of the defense contractors I have worked for, overall I would rate SAIC superior to Northrop Grumman and General Dynamics in terms of a company to work for.

Cons

Benefits keep disappearing, employee stock purchase at a discount disappeared last year. Salary started off great, then pay raise starts to dwindle. Tuition benefits also disappeared. After a while on a new contract, there is pressure to work uncompensated hours.
