Pros

Quality of life at SAIC is good.

Cons

SAIC has extensive services for those who are located at close to the larger offices, but often those at remote locations do not have the same benefits.

Pros

Well known company, nice people. Nice cafeteria, good location. Big company to move around in.

Cons

Cheap...once they went public, spending was slashed and they are pinching pennies on salaries, benefits, etc. Good people/managers are leaving and they are making no effort to keep them. Maybe they are looking to be bought by a Lockheed or northrop

Pros

Management is flexible for time-off.

Cons

Limited opportunities for professional growth. Promotions are preselected without regard for qualifications. Pay is well below industry average and management is not concerned with increasing so as to better staff operations. Benefits are hit and miss, mostly miss, and eligibility changes frequently. Management makes no attempt to share future plans with the "worker bees" and keeps them in the dark as often as possible. Actually, management doesn't give much information to the employees at all. This type of mentality generally leads to a mistrust of management, a lack of pride of where you work, and is not someplace that I'd recommend. The business sense of management is to "put all you eggs in one basket". Translated that means that all resources are poured into the largest program, and when that fails or gets cut back, those employees are laid off. The IPO was a failure. The stock price hasn't gone anywhere. and that's an indication of managements lack of competence.
